Challenge

More than 45 Zoho applications maintained their own notification settings. Users had to navigate to each product’s settings separately to manage notifications making notification preferences fragmented, difficult to discover, and inconsistent across the suite.

There was a need to -

• Provide suite-wide notification controls
• Support granular preferences by user, notification type, and activity
• Preserve each product’s existing notification settings
• Give users visibility into focused and muted notifications
• Enable product teams to integrate without rebuilding their settings interfaces

Goal

Create a unified notification settings experience where users could manage notification preferences across 45+ Zoho applications from one place.

Results

I designed unified Notification Settings with two sections:

General settings

A centralized view of focused and muted notifications, allowing users to:

• Focus or mute notifications from specific users
• Focus or mute individual notification types
• Focus or mute specific activities
• Review and modify all focused and muted preferences in one place
